01 / what it doesmacos utility
Can you close windows in Mission Control on a Mac?
Not on its own. Mission Control shows every open window, but it gives you no way to close one. You have to click into the window, close it, then open Mission Control again for the next.
Mission Control Close puts a ✕ on each one. Click it and the window closes. Use a shortcut to close or quit them all at once.
What the app can see
It uses the macOS Accessibility permission to find each window and place a close button over it while Mission Control is open. The rest of the time it waits in the menu bar. It doesn't capture what's in your windows, and the only network request is an occasional update check.

Mission Control Close questions
Is Mission Control Close free?
Yes. Every feature is free, with no trial, no licence key and no in-app purchases. If you'd like to say thanks, you can leave a tip on Ko-fi.
Is it safe to grant Accessibility permission?
Yes. It uses Accessibility only to find windows and place close buttons over them. It doesn't record keystrokes or capture your screen, and the only network request is an occasional update check. Window managers such as Rectangle and Magnet use the same permission.
Which versions of macOS does it support?
We support the latest version of macOS.
Are there any known limitations?
There's one. If an app has several windows with the same title, such as two Finder windows both showing Recents, the ✕ on one may close the other. macOS gives no way to tell same-titled windows apart. Windows with different titles always close correctly.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit it from the menu bar, then drag it from Applications to the Bin. To remove its permission too, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
